In the spring of 2004, a few gentlemen at the University of Illinois decided that there was a need for a new organization on campus that would focus on hands-on community service and professionalism. The group felt a need for an organization in which men of diverse backgrounds would be able to grow professionally.

In the summer of 2004, the opportunity came in the form of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Incorporated. Working alongside Midwest expansion chair, Sunny Reyna, the men were preparing to embark on a great journey. On February 20, 2005 at 9 a.m. a group of 15 men were initiated into the founders program under the leadership of the RMDC, Luis Carlos Saveedra. The next 12 weeks were definitely a learning experience and a time of enlightenment. It was all worth it in the end as finally on May 14, 2005 the wait was over and 14 men had crossed into the Brotherhood of Omega Delta Phi.
